iOS Widgets
There are currently no widgets available for ProxMate.
Why are there no ProxMate Widgets?
I want all features to work well and be easy to understand. With widgets under iOS/iPadOS, however, there are unfortunately some pitfalls that make the implementation less useful in my view. I would like to give a few examples of this below.
Refresh rate
The update rate cannot be set by the developer, but is determined by Apple's algorithms.
„For a widget the user frequently views, a daily budget typically includes from 40 to 70 refreshes. This rate roughly translates to widget reloads every 15 to 60 minutes, but it’s common for these intervals to vary due to the many factors involved.“

Which information would really be useful?
In my opinion, there is a lot of information that could be displayed in widgets, but when I think about it more closely, only a few of them really make sense.
How to deal with a missing server connection
What happens if there is currently no connection to the node configured in the widget? Should outdated data be displayed in this case, or a message indicating a missing connection? I find a widget that only shows a message very unattractive, especially on the home screen. I also don't find outdated data very useful. In most cases, Proxmox servers are not accessible from the Internet, which means that mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads often have no connection to the node and no current data can be retrieved.
Current status of nodes or guests
Assuming that widgets are updated on average once an hour or less, it makes little sense to monitor the status of nodes or guests via a widget. An external monitoring solution would be better suited for this.
Disc Usage The utilisation of discs usually only increases slowly and, in my opinion, does not need to be monitored permanently.
A widget looks nice, of course, but I'm not sure whether it makes sense under the circumstances explained.
